Calls don't ring on my Android phone

Some Android phones stop apps running in the background to save battery. When that happens, Ansa can't wake up to ring. The fix takes a minute.
Quickest fix
Open Ansa. If it shows “Battery saving may stop calls” or “Ansa is restricted in the background”, tap it — Ansa takes you to the right screen for your phone and checks that the change worked.
The menu names below vary a little between models and software versions. If you can’t find one, search your phone’s Settings for Ansa, battery or auto-start.
Tecno, Itel and Infinix
- Open Settings, then Apps, then Ansa.
- Tap Battery (or Power saving) and choose No restrictions.
- Go back and turn on Auto-start (on some models it’s in Phone Master → App management).
- Open Ansa and make a test call to check it rings.
Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco
- Open Settings, then Apps, then Manage apps, then Ansa.
- Turn on Autostart.
- Tap Battery saver and choose No restrictions.
- Open Ansa and make a test call.
Samsung
- Open Settings, then Apps, then Ansa.
- Tap Battery and choose Unrestricted.
- In Settings → Battery → Background usage limits, make sure Ansa isn’t in Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps.
Other Android phones
Look for the same three things: let Ansa start automatically, give it no battery restrictions, and allow it to run in the background.
Still not ringing?
- Is Ansa signed in?
- Is do-not-disturb off?
- Do you have Wi-Fi or mobile data?
If your phone has no Google services (some newer Huawei phones), Ansa can't ring on it yet.
